The Government of Haryana auctioned liquor vends through tenders bids on Monday here in Gurgaon district. The auction was of both country-made (137) and English (164) liquor. The revenue generated this year from English liquor vends was Rs. 63.56 crores more compared to the last year.

The auction was organized under the tight security in the John Hall. Top Cops like D.C. Deepti Umashankar and some other senior officers of the administration were also present there.

The government had fixed the license fee of 109.38 crore and it earned a total of Rs. 172.94 crore. The highest bid of Rs. 3.69 crore was attracted by a liquor shop in Galleria.

There was reservation for Sc and BC class (A) at the auction. So, the auctioned was started with the bidding for the reserved category. As many as 16 English and 13 country-made liquor vends were reserved for Sc while 8 English and 6 country-made liquor vends were reserved for BC (A).

To finalize the sites for the vends, a committee was formed comprising Huda administrator, SDM and other forest officers. It has been make sure that no vends will open in parks and forest reserve areas.
