CNG prices reduced in Gurgaon

3rd April 2009, Friday

All the CNG vehicle owners in Gurgaon have a reason to smile with the CNG filling stations started receiving direct supply through a pipeline. Right now, there are two CNG filling stations whose supply will be affected, one in sec 53 and the other in sector 29. One CNG pump in sec 44 is already getting the supply since March 26. With the effect of direct supply, the waiting time reduces considerably. Also HGDCL (Haryana Gas Distribution Company Ltd) has announced to reduce the price by 3.50 Rs.

According to sources, the CNG is available at Rs 24/kg while it was earlier available at Rs 27.50. Also, with the supply through pipeline the sale of CNG doubled from 3,000 kg to 6,000 kg in the past four days. GAIL (Gas Authority of India Ltd) had invested about Rs 3 crore in laying the pipeline and equipment installation. Senior vice-present HGDCL, M S Khatkar said that GAIL authorities have fixed a monthly rental of 21 lakh Rs for 15 years.

Sources also said that HUDA had allocated 8 other CNG pumps in sec 14, 15, 18, 22, 27, and 31. According to Gurgaon Master Plan 2021 there will be a total of 25 CNG stations in the city.
