With the series of discussion with the Central Empowered Committee (CEC), the Haryana Govt. has finally decided to undo some of the damage to the Aravali Hills. Yesterday, the Govt. officials undertook before the Supreme Court that they will follow every recommendation given by the CEC. With this decision all the mining lease will be revoked permanently in Gurgaon and Faridabad district.
Earlier, the CEC committee had submitted 53 satellite pictures of 55 villages which depicts that there is massive degradation going on with this illegal mining and colonization. Moreover the Supreme Court monitoring committee suggested that the Aravali mines must be kept as an exhibition to show what not to do during mining.
During the long day hearing, one more issue of the Badkhal Lake was raised by A D N Rao. He also showed the images of the totally dry lake and said that the lake was full of water once but due to this illegal mining the hydrology of the area has changed and all the water has dried up. Finally the special bench said that if the state wants to ban the mining then let them work it out. Also if the state wants to take actions against CEC recommendations then it can go ahead.

Hi all,
I am a resident of Sec 56-57 Gurgaon for the last 6yrs and the only reason I am or came here was for the only Aravali Hill feature.
