The year 2013 will be welcomed with the high speed of airport metro which will be crossing the Delhi boundaries and with hit straight to the millennium city ‘Gurgaon’. The concessionaire company Reliance Infrastructure (R Infra) of the airport express-line of 22.7 Kms says that if invited for, the project would be completed in a time span of just two years. The cost offered by them for the project is around 800 to 1000 crore as per reliable sources. Talks are being initiated by the company with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) from February onwards and it is expected that the company would be awarded with good news in the regards.

As per dependable sources, in February, the Delhi Rail Metro Corporation Chief E Sreedharan revealed that Delhi Rail Metro Corporation is too glad to see the success of PPP Model which is explored with R Infra. Indications were given in a manner that the company would possibly bag the project.

In the later conversations with Lalit Jalan, R Infra’s CEO and Director, it was revealed that the company is ready to take up the project anyways and the only thing it is waiting for is a green signal in a formal way from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. According to him, the concessionaire company is even ready with the very basic techno-commercial studies and is further planning a deep study to come up with a concrete plan which would start as soon as the company gets the assignment approval from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Further revelations tell that the tentative routes for the plan has been chalked out but it will be given the final shape after the feasible study of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation about the project. It is expected that the new metro line would pass through the Palam Vihar Colony of Gurgaon.

Addition of new corridor of about 11 kilometers would be there having both elevated as well as underground stretches with two stations in total. The finalization of the exact location is to be decided solely by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Conclusively it can be said that the line which has to come into existence would basically cater to the locales of Gurgaon, be it airport bound or be it general commuters. The means of transport of the standard being offered is still not a part of Gurgaon yet so, the existence of the project would also boost the real estate aspect of the nearby regions in Gurgaon.
