After the unstructured and sudden growth of Gurgaon, Haryana Government is contemplating to correct its action by developing a master-plan for the development of Manesar as a modern and planned township that will serve as a satellite town for Gurgaon.
Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex is projected for the year 2025, and will be equipped to support a population of 40 lakhs. In recent years Manesar has experienced a rapid growth in urban population. A number of corporate and MNCs have opened in Manesar leading to new and modern development in many ways. Haryana Government has allocated an area of 1246 hectare for industrial use, According to the administration there is huge pressure from Hi-Tech companies, MNCs, and Automobile companies to develop Manesar as a modern industrial town. The modern Manesar will have commercial office complex, residential complexes, malls, and all modern facilities that urban population requires.
Due to Manesar’s proximity to Gurgaon it is also popularly known as New Gurgaon. Haryana Government wants to develop Manesar as a new and structured township that will hold an important place in NCR with a capacity to support huge urban population. This kind of structured planning was missing on the part of Haryan Government in the case of Gurgaon. Although Gurgaon was projected as a millennium city the Government and administration failed to provide a decent and modern infrastructure to the citizens.
When New Gurgaon started developing, most of the development was seen in the form of new buildings, glitzy malls, modern residential societies, and huge concrete structures. However, basic facilities like water supply, drainage system, sewage disposal, power generation, roads and public transport were not focused by the Government as a result of which the citizens are not happy with Gurgaon’s overall development. The Infrastructure of Gurgaon is not equipped enough to handle the burden of growing population.
With failure to develop Gurgaon as a modern town with good infrastructure, Haryana Government has floated the Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex draft Plan for public suggestion and ideas. Although 2025 seems to be a distant plan, the development in Manesar is already visible. A number of big companies have set up their business in this small town, forcing the administration to carry fast and positive development.

I think there is a need to allow Radio taxis upto Dharuhera from Delhi Airport.

There is a need to bring metro railway upto Manesar to have safe living and better connectivity. Metro should reach metroby 2016. Need to open world class multispecility hospitals, shopping malls also. The roads should be widnened and better law and order situtation to be created in Manesar. More IT SEZs and cyber parks to be statred by 2016 in Manesar or new Gurgoan complex.

Take the example from Dwarka- The metro coridor was already planned and the 8 lane roads were planed in all sectors, Shopping area were also planned, caltural centre, fire station , police station and covered drains were planed and the infra is sufficient for more than 100 years of growth. Manesar should be planned in better way than Dwarka and the development should be fast. Gurgoan failure should not be repeated in Manesar complex. World class stadiums, hospitals, Educational institutions should be planned in advance.
