Gurgaon Road Conditions

Those who are a part of this millennium city are well aware of Gurgaon road conditions. On one side Gurgaon boasts of swanky malls, BPO firms, MNCs, and Corporate Offices, but as we step on the roads we face the stark truth. Broken roads, heavy traffic, and inadequate infrastructure are what we experience in place of a modern and developed millennium city.

Gurgaon is far away from becoming a millennium city till it drastically improves its infrastructure. The road conditions are pathetic leading to frequent traffic jams, vehicle breakdowns, water logging, road accidents, and bumpy rides.

The infrastructure of Gurgaon is not adequate to handle the rapidly increasing population of the city. The city is experiencing new residential and commercial construction on a regular basis. More and more families are shifting to Gurgaon to fill-in the new residential complexes being erected one after the other.

There is heavy traffic on the road as the number of cars in Gurgaon is plenty. Each house has 2-3 cars used by individuals. Due to lack of public transport people use their own vehicles increasing the pressure on Gurgaon roads.

The HUDA and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon have turned a deaf ear towards the complaints of Gurgaon residents. The administration is not taking any initiative to improve the dilapidating roads of Gurgaon. The whole image of Gurgaon suffers a loss mainly due to bad road conditions.

Gurgaon is an international city in the sense that it gets plenty of International Business travelers every year. Being the corporate hub of India for past 10 years the city has received who is who of corporate world across the globe. But the image that these people carry back is that of a city with broken roads.

Gurgaon boasts of some of the best buildings in India. DLF Square, Ship Building, Buildings in Cyber Green area are par excellence and give a look and feel of an international city. But the Haryana government has not done its bit to complement the infrastructure along with these tall and attractive structures.

Even the roads that lead to main areas like Galleria (DLF IV), M G Road, Cyber Green are broken and full of pot holes. Gurgaon road conditions are not at all suitable for smooth ride. Pot holed roads are a major cause of frequent traffic jams in Gurgaon. Pot holed roads are easily water logged during rains thus slowing down the traffic. As somebody rightly said, “you don’t have to travel far to visit a splash pool, it’s everywhere on Gurgaon roads.”

Most of the traffic problems in Gurgaon can be solved by repairing the broken roads and widening them wherever required. It’s high time that Gurgaon administration become active and takes steps to make this city a better place to live.

Keeping in mind the kind of crowd that comes to Gurgaon and the kind of growth it adds to Indian economy, the administration should focus its energy on improving the infrastructure, especially Gurgaon road conditions.

I am in complete aggreement with above facts, in addition to above I would like to say that sewage is another major concern area in the city of Gurpaon. Due to no proper sewage system, the sewage water is pumped out and quite frequently it happens that dirty sewage water is overflowing into rain water drains, roads and all sorrounding areas. This not only pollutes the entire environment with a stinking smell but also is breeding ground for mosquitoes and viruses, causing various disease. One live example is the the Palam Vihar, D-Block area. For the past few months, palam Vihar, a so called posh area in Gurgoan having the overflowing sewage water, the green belt is full of seawge ater making the entire sorrounding area stinking with dirty smell.
The adjoining Nalah overflows during rain making the situation worse.
Thorugh this note I would like to bring about the awareness to the MCG and HUDA authorities to take appropriate actions to make this city, a true Melennium city.

Authorities need to do something about roads. Because of the pot holes, last week when I was riding my back home from Infinity Towers, I was introduced to riding risk every 5 mt. I would request the authorities to please have a look at it and get it rectified. God Bless

I moved here 3 years back, was really up-beat about this vibrant little nook close to Delhi. However I am getting disillusioned by the minutes. I ask all of you WHAT CAN I DO, please provide suggestion/ email ID’s / contact person names/ press email ID’s, who will help us escalate this to the ‘right’ people. Please provide any suggestion that has worked that can be applied to the current situation. My biggest crusade is against TRASH, GARBAGGE lying all over the city, if there is any ..ANY authority that is ready to listen and do something about it then PLEASE provide a means by which we can provide pictures to them of the pitiable state of this other wise ok city.

dear well wisher:-Except god i do not think any body can do any thing for this so called vibrant city.

  • 6 Tahseen ~ Dec 21, 2011 at 2:38 am

Gurgaon is all because of educated people. Because Government bodies has merely looted this place. Very soon Maruti is planning to leave for Gujarat. And then other Corporate companies are also planning to shift their offices. Thereafter what would be left would be merely a place with bad infrastructure, which was far hidden by the gleam of Malls, Corporate houses and large Residential complexes.

We would then be able to see clearly that HUDA has done nothing for this city and only looted it
