Almora is in the east of Uttarakhand in India which summons tourists to its panoramic views of natural beauty. It is famous for its unique handicrafts, impressive wildlife, and magnificent cuisine. The town has a rich cultural heritage and history, considered as the cultural heart of Uttarakhand.

One can enjoy the spectacular snowcaps of the central Himalayas. Some beautiful health resorts are there like Ranikhet which means Queen’s field, was a British cantonment. Many more places are there around Ranikhet to visit. One is Chaubutia, famous for its orchards, Tarikhet was once a freedom movement centre, Upat has exquisite golf course, Binsar where Chand Rajas used to camp in summers, and Kasauni as fruitful and a charming resort.

Baijnath is famous for temples of 13th century situated on the Gomati banks in Garur valley. On the Almora-Pithoragarh road, Jageshwar has a group of Shiva temples. Among 12-jyotir lingas in the country, Jageshwar is one among them. Bageshwar and Sitalakhet are another more places for tourists to visit near Almora.

Almora has a moderate climate. April-June and September-November is best time to visit here. For the people interested in watching snow views, early summer and autumn is the best time to visit.

If you want to reach Almora by road from Gurgaon, then you can hire a taxi or can take the required bus available from the bus stop. If it is convenient for you to reach there from Delhi then you can take the bus from I.S.B.T. bus stop, or you can hire a taxi also. From Delhi, Almora is just 378 km away to reach by road.

For the Rail Transport, you can take various trains like Shatabdi Express, Howrah Express, Ranikhet Express, Rampur Passenger and Nainital Express. These trains will drop you at Ramnagar or Kathgodam station, which are nearest to Almora. From there you can take the taxi or a bus.

For Air transport, take the flight from Indira Gandhi Airport which will land you at Pantnagar Airport which is nearest from Almora. Hire a taxi from there or board a bus which will take you to the final destination.
