Location: Situated at a distance of 52kms away from Shimla, Arki is located in the district called Solan in Himachal Pradesh. The place offers attractive view of the rich traditional culture and diversity of the ancient region of Panwar Rajputs of which Arki was considered the erstwhile capital. It is actually a very small district and has not managed to gain popularity among the list of famous destinations that travelers love to visit in India. The region is mountainous and hilly and one even gets to see the enchanting beauty of nature. Forests, plains and mountains all cover the major area of the city. As they are not vegetated properly, they can be considered as beautiful sceneries only.

Cultural history of the city: A famous ancient history is attached to the emergence of the city which talks about the founder of the Baghal state. It was under the reign of Raja Ajai Dev that the city was built. One can find the imprints of the great power and war in the narrow areas and the bazaars. The city was nourished under the rule of Raja Krishan Singh. He made arrangements for massive progress for the growth and development of the traditional culture and activities. Historical paintings and artistic carvings on the utensils still impose tremendous impact on the mind of its viewers. The famous Palace of Raja Krishan Chand is an attractive destination which arrests the attention of historians. It is very well surrounded by the natural wealth of vegetation rich is Deodars and Pine trees. Some festivals are celebrated during the months of July and September in Akri at the famous Jhakoli temple which is an abode of the Banar Devta. The place gets filled with different colors and activities like singing and dancing which spreads fun and enjoyment all around.

Lutru Mahadev, a cave temple is also a worth watching destination. Along with this some other well recognized temples located here are: the Durga Mata mandir, Bhairaon and Shakni temple.

Follow the below mentioned route and reaching Arki would be very easy for you:

  • Start from Cannaught place at Delhi and move on a 11kms track taking a left turn on the radial road.
  • After crossing 18kms, take a left turn on the Chelms road and move 99kms away from there.
  • Then take a right turn on the Jawahar Lal Nehru road and then a slight left and move 4kms ahead. Then again take a right turn moving .92kms away.
  • From the Netaji Subhash marg you’ll have to move 1.39kms after which reaches the Hamilton Road.
  • 1.63kms away is the Zorawar singh marg from which you need to move 57kms. Then take aright turn on the NH1 route towards Ambala which is located at a distance of 199.76kms. Change your road from Ambala which will take you on the Kalka road.
  • This is the NH22road moving towards Dharampur from where you need to take SH and finally comes your destination Arki.
  • You can reach Delhi from Gurgaon via the NH8 route crossing Dhaula kuan. It is the most convenient route for traveling.
