Craignano is a unique city with attractive and stunning beauty situated at a distance of 16kms away from Shimla on the Shimla-Naldhera highway. The place provides scenic views of nature situated at an altitude of 7,700fts above the sea. Basically it is recognized as a picnic spot gaining attentions of the trekking lovers and children. It is also considered as a romantic paradise among the honeymoon couples. All the surrounding areas are occupied by beautiful green lawns and gardens especially with the growth of oak and pine trees. It is very well known for the hilltop rest houses providing luxurious rooms, comfortable bathrooms, Kashmir rugs and many other convenient activities. One of the most famous rest houses of the town is the Wildflower Hall providing beautiful looks of nature along with some views of the famous Dhauladhar range.

Most of the city area is covered by high hills, fruit rich gardens and forests. Mountains ranges and plains benefit its visitors with the pleasures of mountaineering, fishing, skiing during winters, rock climbing and trekking. Nature surrounds the city in such a way that it appears as if the grassy knolls are intentionally placed with stone benches. But the truth is that most of the gardens are created naturally without any manual work.

Craignano is not so popular among most of the tourists, though many people come to enjoy the bliss of nature and the privilege of many adventurous activities. There are some attractive destinations located very close towards this small town. One of them is Mashobra which is at a distance of about 9.6kms away from Craignano and 16kms away from Shimla. Durga Mandir is an amazing attraction of this place. You can even visit Naldehra which is only 22kms away from Shimla. Golf course is an attention grabbing place of this city. The temple of Taradevi is also a holy and unique religious place for visiting. It is actually an abode to the Tibetan Goddess named Drolma but is constructed in the style of Hindu religion.

Visiting Craignano would be very much convenient for people traveling by train. Indian Railways have made traveling very much flexible nowadays. One can easily access a direct train from both the New Delhi and Old Delhi railway station. You may even get a train straight from Gurgaon but many trains are not scheduled from there. In such a case, you can move to Delhi first either by a train or via NH8 route. Craignano is a small city so does not provides the benefit of any railhead exactly in the city but you can get down at the Kalka railway station in Shimla from where private taxis are available at an affordable price. The nearest airport here is the Jubbarhatti airport located in Chandigarh. Craignano is connected to Delhi by the route to Chandigarh crossing Dehradun, Kalka and many other cities. So you can even plan for traveling by road either by hiring a private taxi or moving by bus.
