Kalsi is a historical and cultural trek in jaunsar-babar region, at the bottom of Garhwal Mountains where tribes are known as Jaunsaris. Polygamy and polyandry are practiced here. There is a large village on the banks of Yamuna called Lakhamandal. According to many people Lakhshagriha in Mahabharata is same as lakhamandal. The palace made of lac was built by duryodhana (kaurva prince) in which he tried to burn pandavas alive. However pandavas manage to escape. A special attraction to lakhamandal is an ancient temple. Villagers believed that the temple is dedicated to Bhagvati and lord Shiva. And it has two life size stone statues which they believe to be Bhima and Arjuna, the dwarpals of the temple.

Kalsi is a slice of paradise with manicured lawns, graceful trees and flowering beds. The trek is rich in flora and fauna.
