Kanatal is a small town situated near Mussoorrie in Unttranchal. The exact location is the Mussoorie-Chamba highway which is at a distance of approx 300kms form Delhi. The most followed route to reach this place is via Chamba in Tehri. The hill rests at an altitude of about 8500 ft above the level of the sea. It is one of the most attractive tourist destinations of the India.

The entire place has gained the privilege of showing off the snow clad of the Garhwal Himalayas. Even the beautiful forests are hidden inside the gentle view of snow. It can be easily said that the Nature’s real beauty has been gifted to the city which adds up to the other advantages.

As the place gets really cold, the maximum rising temperature during summer is approximately in the middle of 10 to 15 degrees and during winters it moves down to minus temperatures. Kanatal never gets hot in any of the climatic conditions as a result of which the city always remains pleasant.

Earlier Kanatal was recognized by the ancient lake that suddenly died when the place turned from a sunny place into a snow shed town. Many years back the place was visited by tourists just for the pleasure of sight seeing which included beautiful sunset spots and greenery. Thought the place has not yet lost its charm but definitely the shopping malls and the beautiful green gardens have now almost vanished. It is more of the chilly region now which gives the pleasure of its own type.

Nearest visiting destinations are Surkhanda Devi Mandir, the amazingly beautiful city of Dhanaulti, The famous Tehri Dam and Kaddukhal. One can leave this place without having a glimpse of all theses places.

Many tourist lodges and resorts have now been constructed in order to provide the lustrous view of the snowy atmosphere. There are some private cottages as well that are available for maximizing visitor’s comfort. They best way of visiting the place is by road as you can enjoy the beautiful pleasures of Nature. You can hire a direct private taxi from Gurgaon to reach Kanatal. You can first start from Delhi, then move towards Ghaziabad via Meerut followed by Roorki and finally Dehra Dun by crossing Mussoorie, you are there at your final destination.

Apart from this pleasure you can travel through train as many trains are scheduled nowadays like Shatabdi Express, Derhra Dun Express and Mussoories Express. If you prefer to travel by air then it man not be so comfortable as the nearest airport is in Dehra Dun, the Jolly Grant Airport from where you’ll again have to hire a taxi. Still there are many flights available at both the Gurgaon airports, to make your trip fantastic.
