Kausani is a splendid hill station with a spectacular view of the Himalayas from the Kumaon Hills of Uttaranchal. It is situated at 6,075 feet above the sea level. Kausani is referred to as Switzerland of Uttaranchal and is known for 300 km-wide views of the Himalayan snow-peaks. It has an unspoilt natural beauty which offers blissfully undiluted silence.
Kausani has a wonderful sunrise and the tourists throng to this place to see the stunning and heart-stopping views here. The place has the crisp air with the scent of pines. The landscape is dotted with pear orchards and tea gardens and during summers the valleys are full of wild flowers. It has beautiful dense forest and the glowing hills lit up by the setting sun.

Kausani is the birthplace of Hindi poet, Krishna Nandan Pant and in 1929 Mahatma Gandhi stayed here at the Anasakti Ashram. Here he explored the Anasakti Yoga.
Hindi and Kumaoni are the languages spoken here. The best time to visit the hill station is in between April to June and September to November. The climate of Kausani is pleasant though in summers you require light woolens and during winters, heavy woolens. This is a perfect place to have a getaway from the heat of the cities.
Kausani offers the adventurous trekking with fine treks like the Bageshwar Sundardhunga Trek, Adi Kailash Trek and Base Kausani Trek. For the wildlife enthusiasts, here is a bird sanctuary close to the hill resort at Binsar.
Kausani provides other attractions like famous temple towns of Baijnath and Bageshwar, where a lot of devotees visit every year. Baijnath Temple is just 17 kms away from Kausani on the banks of River Gomti. Dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Kausani is a superb travel destination through which tourists can make other excursion options like Almora, Ranikhet and Nanital which can be easily reached. Almora is 53 kms away from Kausani. It also provides us with changing moods of the high Himalayan peaks - Nanda Devi,
Trishul and the Nandakot which are snow-covered and their impenetrable beauty overshadow the lesser mountains which are scattered at their feet. In India, Nanda Devi is the second highest peak at 7817 meters.
Kausani is not so far from Gurgaon. There can be different ways to reach there. You can hire a taxi till Kausani. You can reach Delhi first.
For bus transport, take the correct bus from I.S.B.T. it is a 14 hour journey which connects the route including other hill resorts-Ranikhet, Almora, Gwaldam, Pittoragarh and Nanital
If you want to go by air take the required flight from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi, which will drop you at the nearest airport at Pantnagar. To reach Kausani take a car or other vehicle to cover up the distance of left over 180 kms.
For the Rail Transport take your train from Old Delhi railway station or from Nizamuddin. It will take you to the nearest railway station at Kathgodam, after which you have to cover up the distance of 142 kms through another vehicle.
