British established a cantonment here in 1887A.D. which was founded by lord Lansdowne therefore the place is named after his name.
Tourists can enjoy lovely view of western Himalayas by visiting number of amazing points like snow view and Tiffin top.

It is 45kms away from Kotdwar. Salubrious climate and natural beauty attracts tourists all round the year. Summers are pleasant and winters are quite cold as the temperature goes below zero.Lansdowne

One need to take Delhi-meerut road (not the bypass) to come to Kanvashram by road, change to Meerut- Nazibabad route. Kotdwar is 12kms from nazibabad and after that Lansdowne comes. Taxis are available from Gurgaon also. It is 295kms from Delhi and will take approx 6hrs.

Gurgaon to Lansdowne

If you want to travel by train, mussoorie express leaves old Delhi everyday at 10.20p.m. And you can get down at Kotdwar (around 6.00 a.m.). After that you can hire a taxi for Lansdowne as the nearest railway station is Kotdwar (37kms). From Gurgaon one can easily reach old Delhi railway station by your own conveyance or by taxi.

Jolly Grant (152kms) is the nearest airport at Pauri to reach Lansdowne. You can go to Kotdwar from Pauri by taxi or tourist car.
Reaching airport is not a problem whether you are in Delhi or Gurgaon.
