Neemrana is an ideal getaway for a Gurgaon resident since it is only 2 hours drive to the fort and the divided carriageway makes 85 kms pass like a zip. You can go for a weekend retreat to the 53 room hotel which is also a part of the fort or you can go for a day trip and enjoy a adventure sports followed by a meal at the heritage hotel.
Talking about heritage, the fort was constructed by Maharaja Devi Singhji in 15th century. There is an appealing incident behind the name of the fort. It has got its name from a brave local group leader named Nimola Meo. He pleaded that his name be given to his lost kingdom after getting defeated by Chauhans. This fort is an incredible heritage of Rajasthan and is one of the oldest.
A trip to Neemrana is partial without a visit to the Neemrana Fort. The fort has magnificent views of the surrounding beauty. It is an ideal venue for weddings and gatherings. When you step inside this fort, you will virtually get elated to a completely unusual world. The ambience of the fort is purely charismatic and features some historic furniture, antique works of art and frescoed paintings.
Zipping in Neemrana: For those who want to do more than bask in the rich history and cultural heritage here, Neemrana has more to offer. It is an ideal place to explore the adventure of zipping. Zipping from hilltops on the strength of a cable stripe is quite a thrill. This is the best joyride to get in India. This zip line is the longest zip line in South Asia. The facility is run by Flying Fox, and is known to be safe and fun.
While zipping between the fort and ridge tops, you will fly down a series of ultra-strong cables or zip lines, attached by a harness and pulley. The view down to Neemrana Fort Palace and the Aravelli Mountains beyond is magnificent.
Renowned restaurants: The Neemrana Fort is quite famous for its French and Rajasthani cuisines. It includes quite a few restaurants like Maha Burj, Raj Mahal and Hawa Mahal Aranya Mahal, Aam Khas, Panch Mahal, Holi Kund and Amaltasse restaurants.
While visiting Neemrana heritage hotel:
- Visit an eleven storey stepwell which is an architectural marvel complete with arched ways. It is situated near the fort.
- Try games like - treasure hunt, trekking and zipping. The hotel also facilitates indoor games like - carom, chess and playing cards.
- Try the spa at the hotel for ayurvedic treatments, massages and other refreshing programs.
- Spend time with books at the grand library.

Although travelling on road is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Neemrana from Gurgaon but if you can also reach there by Indian railways. There are several rail connections to Alwar from Delhi. Important trains are Shatabdi Express (New Delhi-Alwar- Ajmer); Super fast Express (New Delhi- Alwar- Ajmer); Intercity Express (Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Alwar - Jaipur); Marudhar Express (Varanasi – Alwar - Jodhpur); Mandore Express (Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Alwar - Jodhpur). You can hire taxi from Alwar to Neemrana fort.
