Ranikhet is visited by traveler especially who love trekking and rock climbing and it is also appreciated for the natural scenic beauty which makes the place more graceful. It is a beautiful hilly paradise created and named after the Kumaoni queen who had deep affection for the green meadows and glades of this region. The king of the town, Raja Sukherdev built a beautiful palace in the name of his Rani. Though the Palace is found nowhere in the entire city still the beauty and serenity of the majestic mountain peaks and the exotic wildlife and nature is enough to attract the attention of the people from far of lands. It also has a charm of the greenery along with slight flavors of history which can be still seen in some places of the city. Ranikhet is located at a height of about 1829mtrs. It was found long ago that this quaint hill station was discovered in the year 1869 by the famous Lord Mount for the purpose of military training. The camp is an abode to the Kumaon regiment even today.
If we start talking about the climate then no other place come in comparison with its pleasant serene atmosphere. It is actually situated in Uttranchal which itself is a cool destination. And the nearby place also is loved for the beautiful whether only. Nainital is quite closely located at a distance of about 60kms and one can even visit Almora as this place is also situated quite nearby. Ranikhet is mostly regarded as a picnic spot for traveler and trekking lovers who come to visit the beautiful high hills of Nainital frequently. Still the city offers amazing looks of the snow covered Himalayas which is the natural charm of the city. Along with different views one can also take the pleasure of the sight of beautiful flowers and ripened fruits all around the place. Alongside, the sweet chirping of the birds fills the atmosphere with ultimate but softened contentment and happiness.

The city is also famous for the religious aspect as one can even visit some beautiful temples like Mankameshwar and Naithna Devi. Binsar Mahadev and Hairakhan Temple are also located at a distance of 19kms and 4kms respectively.
Indian roadways and railways have made traveling very convenient nowadays as there is large number of traveler coming to India from foreign places to have a glance of the scenic beauty of different tourist’s destinations. You can get there by road following the route via Hapur crossing Rampur, Garhmukteshwar, Gajraula, Joya and Moradabad through NH87 road. This way could be followed by a private taxi or a bus. Trains are also available taking passengers directly to Ranikhet. On of them is Ranikhet Express which will make you reach Kathgodam, the only railhead located very close to your final destination.
Tourists who prefer traveling by air, the nearest airport is located in Gurgaon only. Their names are Indira Gandhi and Palam airport. It’s quite convenient if you wish to go to Ranikhet by air only as the nearest airport there is 112kms away and is named as Pantnagar.
