Rohru is located at an elevation of 1,694 meters. It is a small town with a population of about 6606.This town is situated by Pabbar River banks. Rohru is around 115 km far from Shimla. It is a Municipal Committee in Shimla District.

is a beautiful place at the Hill top with pine trees and with wonderful views of the valleys. The city has a valley nearby which is well known for trout fishing. The place offers great opportunities for various adventurous activities like trekking, fishing, camping and hang gliding. Rohru is famous for its splendors and natural beauty. This area was developed into a paradise of anglers by Raja Bhandari who was greatly attracted to this place

The climate of Rohru is quite bright with comfortable summers and freezing winters. Many places in and around Rohru can be visited like Chirgaon, Chanshal range and the villages of Kwar and Dodra. There is one Shikhru Devta Temple which is in the heart of the city. There are some good fishing spots available in Chirgaon in the areas such as Seema, Sandasu, Tikri, and Dhamari. For Heliskiing, slopes of Chanshal are the perfect place. In Pabbar River one can enjoy rafting and Canoeing. Giriganga and Chansal pass are another place to visit.

Haat Koti is located about 100 km from Shimla, a beautiful temple in Rohru belonging to the ancient time of Mahabharat. One mystery is related to this temple. To the door of the temple a pig is tied with the chain. If the pot is left free, then the pot starts moving towards a river nearby the temple. It is said that if the pot starts vibrating, it means that something bad can happen in future which makes the people aware about the danger in advance. It is also said that one more pot was there at the temple which went into the river some day.

The hills of Rohru and the Hatkoti temple are surrounded by orchards. Rohru is also called Shimla district’s apple hub. Between the months of September and November, is the best time to see the ripe fruits and around April trees start flowering which makes Rohru a breathtaking sight of pale white blooms. But you have to be very careful that you do not trespass.

One can spend their holidays for stress free life here for around 3 or more days. You can reach Rohru by Road transport. Taxi or a bus can be hired from Gurgaon to Rohru. From Gurgaon, there are a good number of buses available to you at different timings. If you miss your bus from Gurgaon, take the bus from New Delhi. The buses will drop you at Shimla bus stand from where you can hire a taxi or another bus which will cover around 110 km.

If you want to go by Rail Transport, take the right train from Nizamuddin or Old Delhi Station. The train will leave you at Shimla Railway station. From there you can take a bus or a cab to reach Rohru.

Air transport is also available to drop you near Rohru. You can take your flight from Indira Gandhi Airport which will drop you at Shimla Airport. Take a bus or a taxi from Shimla airport to reach Rohru.
