Location: Shimla is a beautiful paradise situated at an altitude of 6,890ft above the sea level in the hills of Himachal Pradesh. It is exactly located in the North-western valleys of the Himalayas approximately 357kms away from Delhi. It has been named after the name of Hill Goddess Kali ‘Shamla Devi’. The ancient name of the place is Simla which means an abode of snow. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh.

Shimla does not require any definition or introduction to the tourists as it is already one among the most famous hill stations of India that grabs the attention of millions of travelers. It seems as if nature itself rests inside the green forests, plains, deep valleys and beautiful high mountains of Shimla. The dense forests of town are covered by both deodar and pine trees. How to reach Shimla?

• Traveling to Shimla would be quite convenient if you are willing to reach there by train. Shiwalik Express and Kalka-Shimla Railway would make you reach quite easily from any railway station in Delhi or even in Gurgaon. But it might not be possible for you to access a direct train from Gurgaon so it would be really better if you could reach Delhi first and then move towards your destination.
• One can travel by air as well as the nearest airport in Delhi which is located on the Gurgaon- Delhi highway named as Palam and Indira Gandhi airports. Jubberhatti is the nearest airport in Shimla which is at a distance of approximately 26 kms.
