Siliserh Lake is located in the north east of Rajasthan. The captivating Siliserh Lake was built in 1845 AD by Maharaja Vinay Singh. The lake is beautifully positioned amidst the well forested slopes of Aravalli Hills. The lake attracts a lot of migratory birds adding color and music to the sweet scene. But for the hustle of the whispering woods and chirping birds, the place promises total tranquility and is ideal for a smooth trek. Besides its impressive and picaresque looks, the lake is a hot spot for challenge loving people since it presents a perfect track for angling.
A beautiful palace has been made by Maharaja Vinay Singh for his wife in year 1845. It is now converted as the Hotel Lake Palace, an economy hotel run by the Rajasthan Government tourism board (R.G.T.B.). The Siliserh Palace is known as palace cum hunting lodge, provides a breathtaking view of the water spread of the lake and its surrounding environment with hills on three sides.
Excursions from Siliserh Lake are:
Jaisamand: Jaisamand Sanctuary is situated 50-km south of Udaipur, the pleasing ‘City of Lakes’, succulent valleys and hills. It is located on the bank of Jaisamand Lake, the second largest artificial Lake in Asia.
Ajabgarh: It is Located 21 kms south of Thana Ghazi in Alwar district; this place is famous for a temple called Shri Raghunathji.
Tijara: It is an old historic town situated 48 kms north east of Alwar, has an imposing Fort Worth visiting.
Vijay Mandir Palace: A beautiful palace built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1918 AD which is situated 10 km away from the city. A scenic lake overlooking the palace makes it a charming sight. A great Sita Ram Temple in the palace attracts number of devotees, especially during Ramnavami. One has to take prior permission from the Secretary to visit the palace.
In order to reach Alwar, a number of transport services are available. A number of buses run between Delhi and Jaipur. One can catch various buses from ISBT (Delhi).For Jaipur, there are deluxe, semi deluxe and normal buses available. The route one can follow while coming from Gurgaon is starting from Gurgaon to Dharuhera then to Alwar and then last destination is Siliserh Lake.
Nearest railway station to Siliserh lake is Alwar. Many trains run directly to Alwar from New Delhi railway station namely Shatabadi express, Super fast express, Intercity express and many more you can opt as per your convenience. Taxis are easily available nowadays for Alwar from the railway station.
Jaipur is the nearest airport to Siliserh Lake, situated at a distance of 110 Km and well connected to all the major cities of India. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, and Sahara are the main airlines that connect Jaipur to many cities. Tourists coming from Gurgaon can easily travel by air and can hire a taxi form Jaipur to Siliserh Lake.

I want to visit Siliserh lake with Two Families on the 25th Dec. 2010 morning and want a good and safe Route Direction from Faridabad.What if we want to stay overnight ?Any near by places worth seeing.

We are 25 people who would like to visit Silisar on the 16th of July 2011.
We will stay the entire day at the place from morning to evening.
We would like to have breakfast, lunch and evening snacks at the hotel and also use other facilities.

place is serene, its 7 km from my house. i suggest staying at a good hotel in the city (ALWAR)and driving down. its very close to the city. by the way please correct the info, nearest airport is IGI delhi and nearest railway station is Alwar Jn. Shatabdi plys everyday. good luck.
