Sitla is a small village at a distance of 5kms from Mukteshwar situated in Uttranchal. The place is a recognized by the enchanting beauty of the hills and valleys along with terrific views of the green forests and orchards. Most of the forests are covered by pine and oak trees all around. A famous attraction of this small hilly town is the scenic view of the Himalayas which covers an area of around 39 acres. This side of the hills is not covered with snow peaks or chilly areas but here you can take the pleasure of fresh green nature full of flowers, fruits and different types of trees. Trekking on to the hills moving high towards the city of Mukteshwar is a common adventurous activity being practiced by many visitors especially kids and young adults.

Sitla has been scarcely been explored by foreign tourists and its not even visited quite frequently. But now the things are changing here due to the efforts of CHIRAG. The full meaning of CHIRAG is Central Himalayan Rural Action Group which is an NGO working for the growth and development of the city as well as the people living here.

The exact location of Sitla is in the Kumaon hills. The hills are at a height of around 7000ft and getting more and more visitors nowadays. There is one more reason behind the popularity of the place and that is the Sitla Estates. This estate gets attention because of some specific reasons. One of them is the beautiful views of Nanda Devi, Panchuchuli and Trishul which can be seen from the comfortable rooms of the resort. Alongside you can get the advantage of marvelous cuisines and home made juices and jams. One can even have a glance of the Corbett National Park quite clearly from here.

Gurgaon to SitlaSitla Estates rests on the border of the Mukteshwar Reserve Forest which is very famous and offers an abode to panthers, spot boars and Sambhar. Adventure lovers cannot stay away from this destination. The best and easy way to get there is by rail and Ranikhet Express is the right option form Old Delhi railway station. Moving to Delhi from Gurgaon is really not a big deal. All you need is a direct bus or private car taking you straight to Delhi railway station via NH8. Kathgodam Railway station is the only nearest railhead situated near to Sitla.

One can easily reach Sitla by road even if you are planning to make your trip more adventurous. You need to follow this way: Start from Gurgaon via NH8 towards Delhi from where you need to move on to NH24 towards Moradabad via Gajraula crossing the Moradabad bypass. Take a turn towards Rampur. Then you need to follow the NH87 route taking you straight towards Kathgodam crossing Haldwani. 47kms away from here you reach Bhimtal and then to Mukteshwar. Finally you reach quite close to your final destination which is 5-7kms away from Mukteshwar.

You can plan your trip any time during September to June as it is the best time to visit Sitla for adding colors to your stress free holidays.
