Sitlakhet is a lost paradise, an ultimate place for peace and happiness nestled in the lap of majestic Himalayas, a wonderful vacation, an adventure and an off beat paradise in Uttarakhand.
Just two kilometers below Sitlakhet there is the village ‘Khoont’ which is the ancestral village of the late Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the first chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and the famous freedom fighter of India.
It is a stunning view at the height of 2000 meters or may be more in Syahi Devi hills to treat your senses with great Himalayas in front of you. From only 10 kilometers away from Sitlakhet, there is a famous temple of Syahi Devi, which is now another attraction to the tourists. Syahi Devi temple is a beautiful religious attraction visited regularly by many local devotees.
Sitlakhet is a prime picnic spot with full of lush orchards, spectacular sceneries, bracing cool breeze situated between Almora and Ranikhet. Sitlakhet is famous for its herbs and medicinal plants.
Marvelous view of majestic himalyas makes this place to stand out among other tourist spots.
Sitlakhet is used as the grounds for scouting camps and is a trekking delight for adventure tourists, as climate remains pleasant allover the year.
This is for sure that once you have been there, you won’t be able to leave this heavenly place. One has to go with a heavy heart.
Tourists coming from Gurgaon shall reach Delhi by taxi or car and starting from Nizamuddin Bridge near Pragati Maidan, you have to go straight on to Gazipur continuing in NH-24, go straight through Hapur bypass to Garh Mukteshwar and then to rampur on the same road, turn left from Rampur for Bilaspur, go straight through Rudrapur to Haldwani and then to Kathgodam, go straight 4 kilometers ahead is Ranibagh, then turn right on state highway for Bhowali crossing Bhimtal, continue the same highway for Khairna bridge and later to Kakri ghat, take a left from Kakri Ghat and you will find a straight local road to Sitlakhet 10 kilometers away.
The nearest railway station is located in Kathgodam. 5013 Ranikhet Express (Night) departs from Delhi railway station. And some other trains are also there, that you have to watch out. Reaching railway station is not a problem now days due to availability of taxi or cars outside the station.

hi subroto,
today i just searched on the google “hemant yayavar” and found this link. i had forgot about this, a little surprise(& sanjog again) but i m reading this after many days. Well, I dont know whether it is worth of buying the land there, but my mausa ji suggested that there is a guest house of discovery channel, many telecom companies has constructed their towers there bcoz of its high altitude, many outsiders has bought land there, roads are developing, and UK Govt. has announced it a tourist destination, so more development will be there hopefully. And me and my friends are planning to go there in Sitla Khet to check how is the place and we also dream to buy land there and build a small Hill-House there.
