Srinagar is the most beautiful place of India which attracts people from all over the world. It is a heaven on Earth situated at an altitude of 1,730meters above the sea level. Its exact location is right in the middle of the Kashmir valley along with the banks of the river Jhelum. The city has for long been appreciated for the fabulous vistas of nature and amazing scenic beauty attracting traveler’s attention very easily. Its beauty is well appreciated in the books of poetry written in ancient years by many famous poets.

During the rule of Akbar, the city came under the process of development which gave rise to the construction of various gardens. After the rule of Akbar the city ran into the hands of Maharaja Ranjit Singh during 1819, and then the control was shifted to the Dogras just after which India got her Independence. The two most featured places in Srinagar are the Nagin and the Dal Lake. These two lakes surround almost each and every area of the city and are an attraction for most of the travelers because of the pleasure of the Shikara ride all above the river waters. The water is calm and gentle and also provides deep mental peace. Water-surfing has now been started nowadays in the lake, it’s not just for children or youngsters only many aged people also love to enjoy the lake’s scenic beauty. Mughal gardens are constructed all over the city having greenery all around. Some of the flowers that are found here are so exclusive that you cannot find their existence anywhere else in India. Most popular gardens around Dal Lake are Shalimar and Nishat Bagh and also Pari Mahal which is also a garden having historical importance. Hazaratbal Mosque is also a very popular place of the town constructed with pure marble.

Many flights by Air Deccan, Jet Airways, Go Air, Kingfisher Airlines and Spice Jet come to Srinagar daily. Buses are also available taking people directly to Srinagar from Delhi as well as from Gurgaon but since a bus journey is not so comfortable most people tend to avoid them as its takes around 2-3 days for reaching there. Private taxis are available at all the stations and airport as well. After reaching Srinagar, do not forget to visit Gulmarg and Sonmarg, both are beautiful traveling destinations.
