Finally, there is some good news for all the residents along with daily commuters of the millennium city Gurgaon. The city is all set to get metro facilities five months before the set deadline. Now, intra city commuting will be easier as Gurgaon to get Metro by Jan 2010. Actually, the Government of Haryana requested DMRC to open the Qutub Minar-Sushant Lok stretch before the rest of the line.

The set deadline for this stretch was July 2010 but with the government request, DMRC has agreed to open this Gurgaon stretch five months earlier after seeing the commuting problems of the city. The construction is going really fast. All the Gurgaon residents are eagerly waiting for the opening of this line even if this line does not connected to the Delhi’s Metro. Actually, the city lacks proper public transport and going anywhere in Gurgaon is really a headache. That’s why this Metro stretch will be very helpful for the daily commuters and the locals.

According to a DMRC spokesperson, nearly all the stations are ready and only entry and exit structure are left. He also said that the work on the Delhi side of MG road is also speeding up and the line will be connected to Delhi by June 2010.
