Weekend Getaways Ex-Gurgaon



There is not much to see and do in Gurgaon if one wants to have a fun-filled weekend. Except malls, eating joints, multiplexes, and pubs, one cannot look forward to anything else. Yet there are a few weekend getaways ex-Gurgaon that can be visited during weekends or extended weekends.

Jaipur

Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan is just 250 kms from Gurgaon and is the most popular haunt for Gurgaon residents for a 2-3 days fun.

The best time to visit the pink city is from October to March as the summers are intense. The city has a number of forts and havelis where one can get the feel of the real Rajasthan and its royalty. A few must visit spots are Amber Fort, City Palace, Bapu Market, Jantar Mantar, Birla Mandir, and Hawa Mahal.

Jaipur also offers the connoisseurs with great culinary experience. The colorful bazaars of Jaipur offer something to everyone.

Jaipur has a number of hotels ranging from Luxury to budget. Thr city of Jaipur is sure to offer you a nice and vibrant holiday for all age groups.

Camp Mustang

Mustang is a ridge with Aravalli at the backdrop and surrounded by trees on the Western side of Manesar. A number of tour operators organize camps in this area. Activities like Burma bridge, Hot air ballooning, Adventure Rolling Ball (Zorbing), Trekking, Rock Climbing, Archery, Rappeling, and so on.

It’s a perfect destination for corporates who want to organize team building exercises for their employees. It is also recommended for families who want to have some adventure without travelling very long distance.

Mandawa Desert Camp

Mandawa Desert Camp is located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It is one of lesser known weekend getaway ex Gurgaon. The location is popular for desert camp where you can run away from the hustle bustle of city life and stargaze lying on the golden sand.

40 bighas of land is covered with natural sand dunes providing a look and feel of the true Rajasthan. The spot is actually locates in the village “Dhaka Ka Waas”, 4 kms from Mandawa. The town of Mandawa is also famous for forts and havelis and a stopover is worth it.

The accommodation is in tent type cottages of various categories. Various recreational and adventure activities are organized at the camp, for example – Air Gun Shooting, Monkey Crawls, Balancing Rope, Burma Bridge, and other indoor games like Dart Boards, Chess, Cards, Monopoly, and so on.

Pataudi Palace

Pataudi Palace is a very popular weekend getaway ex Gurgaon. The palace of the Nawab of Pataudi, the forefathers of the famous actor Saif Ali Khan, has been converted into a heritage hotel.

The place offers a nice and relaxed holiday away from the crowd of city. The old style bathrooms intrigue the guests. One can savor Bhopal-Rampur Nawabi cuisine and relax in well appointed royal style rooms. The hotel has a beautiful rose and cypress garden.
